Summer 2019

It's that time of year again, holiday planning time!! Sadly we can't get to Ravda this year, but we will definitely be there next year. This means that the whole of August is available at the moment for anyone interested in staying. Ravda has developed quite a lot over the last few years but it hasn't lost its charm. Every year we find somewhere new to visit or new places to eat. There is a lovely restaurant at the far end of Ravda now, near to the Emerald Resort, called Alta Marea. Bistro Villa Livia is another great restaurant. There is a map below which shows some of the restaurants. Many people might have seen Sunny Beach advertised as one of the cheapest holiday spots. Ravda is cheaper than Sunny Beach and quieter. Sunny Beach is easily accessible from Ravda either by bus or taxi for those who like a busier nightlife and more shopping! Nessebar is a great foodie place and a UNESCO World Heritage Centre, full of history. There are many churches to visi...

Summer is fast approaching, time to start thinking about holidays. We have already booked and counting down the days. Will be arriving in Ravda on the 12th August, looking forward to another sunny, chilled holiday. Last year was quite an eventful holiday. We decided to fly via Sofia so that we could stay a night there and see what the capital was like. We had a great day and wished we had booked a couple of nights so we could see more of such a beautiful city. We also paid a visit to St Vlas, just along the coast from Ravda, what a beautiful town. the harbour was amazing as were the views. This can be seen from the pictures below. We had a lovely meal overlooking the harbour. I think this year Pomorie is on the list of places to visit. It's just down the road from Ravda how we have never visited it before I do not know!. I think it's because when you get to the apartment you just become so chilled out that it really doesn't feel necessary to go anywhere else. Chilling b...

Looking forward to another Bulgarian summer holiday, we will be there for three weeks again! Already got a booking for the July, hoping to get more soon. People shouldn't be put off by the cost of the flights as it is so cheap when you get there and you don't get any hidden surprises. There can't be many holiday destinations where you can still get a meal for four with drinks for less than £30. One of the cheapest places to eat in Ravda is called Tony's. Last year we had a great meal for 10 with 5 bottles of wine, soft drinks for the kids all for £65 unbelievable! Drop me an email if you would like more information about renting our apartment at rivierafort@btinternet.com. Prices start from £150 per week for our 1 bedroom beachfront apartment.

There are many interesting things to do and see in the area around Ravda. There is a water park which only opened in 2006 and you can get a free shuttle bus from the centre of Ravda. We found this very clean and the kids had a great time. The UNESCO protected town of Nessebar is a few minutes away by bus. Again the buses run from the centre of Ravda and the cost is about 40p. As a museum town Nessebar is classified as a world heritage site. In this small town you can see the remains of over 40 ancient churches and centuries old traditional Bulgarian houses. Its beach is considered to be the best along the Black Sea coast. The sand strip is 4.5 km long covered with extremely fine and abundant clean golden sand. The town is split into two parts the Old Town and the New Town. There are lots of bars and shops in the new town. There are also many shops and various stalls selling hand made local products and many local paintings in the Old Town.
